Anatomy and physiology regarding cardiopulmonary and neurophysiological systems Sleep physiology and diagnostic sleep record techniques Computer systems particularly with a windows based environment ICD-9/10 and CPT/HCPS coding conventions and procedures Physician office documentation standards Computer systems and software used in functional area New technologies and maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes Adult Developmental needs of the young adult Geriatric patients Desired experience for sleep technician includes:
Maintains Sleep records and compiles reports from database, collects data Provides for the assessment and evaluation of the appropriateness and effectiveness of diagnostic testing based on patients age, cognitive and physical abilities, and/or developmental needs Communicates a professional attitude with patients, visitors and other hospital personnel One (1) year of previous experience with sleep disorders, especially apnea required Working knowledge of the technology, medical applications, methodology, physiology, sleep disorders and related diagnoses Registered as a sleep technician preferred Our company is searching for experienced candidates for the position of sleep technician.

Responsibilities for sleep technician Collects, analyzes and integrates patient information to identify and meet the patient Follows procedural protocols such as Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration, to ensure collection of appropriate data Follows lights out procedures to establish and document baseline values (such as body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rates) Assists with appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration) Attempts to locate no-shows and to fill unexpected openings using Stand-By Waiting List All functions associated with being a night sleep technician This includes preparing the patient for testing, administering the test, defining the preliminary report, scoring the test, and maintaining equipment and supplies The technician also converses with physicians, physician office staff, and patients regarding sleep/wake disorders and testing Ensures that facilities and equipment are in optimal and proper working condition Qualifications for sleep technician Effective written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills and detail orientation Effective organizational skills and ability to effectively multi-task Be well organized and deliver to timelines Job Types:
